İlköğretim ikinci kademe öğrencilerinin fen bilgisi dersine yönelik tutumları [Students attitudes toward science lessonin second grade of elemantary education]

Bu çalışma ilköğretim ikinci kademe öğrencilerinin Fen Bilgisi dersine yönelik tutumlarını belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Ayrıca bu tutumların, öğrencilerin psiko-sosyal özelliklerine göre anlamlı farklar gösterip göstermediği araştırılmıştır. Araştırmada Aydın merkez ilköğretim okullarının 6., 7. ve 8. sınıf öğrencilerine 2 bölümden oluşan bir anket uygulanmıştır. Anketin birinci bölümünde, öğrencilerin kişisel bilgilerini belirlemeyi amaçlayan sorular, ikinci bölümünde ise Fen Bilgisi dersine yönelik tutum ölçeği yer almıştır. Tutum ölçeği güvenirliği 0.88’dir. Araştırma bulgularına göre; öğrencilerin Fen Bilgisi dersine yönelik tutumları orta düzeydedir. Öğrencilerin, en sevdikleri ders, okudukları okul, okudukları sınıf, annelerinin eğitim düzeyi, ailelerinin aylık geliri, Fen Bilgisi dersine yönelik tutumlarında farklılıklar yaratmaktadır. Ayrıca öğrencilerin Fen Bilgisi dersine yönelik tutumları, kendilerini başarı açısından değerlendirmelerine göre anlamlı farklar gösterirken, cinsiyetlerine, babalarının eğitim düzeyine ve mesleğine, annelerinin çalışıp çalışmamasına ve kendilerini sosyal açıdan değerlendirmelerine göre anlamlı farklılık göstermemektedir.

This study was conducted to understand students’ attitudes toward science lesson in second grade of elemantary education. Also it was examined whether attitude toward science lesson of students differ significantly based on their psycho-social status. For the purpose of this study, a survey composed of two section was given to 6th, 7th and 8th class students at elementary schools in the centre of Aydın. In the first section of the survey, students were asked about demografic information, in the second part they were given a scale to measure their attitudes toward science lessons. The reliability of Science Attitude Scale was found to be 0.88. According to the results of this study; students’ attitudes toward science were found at medium level. Students’ favorite lesson, studied school and class, mothers’ educational level, families’ monthly salary caused differences about students’ attitude toward science lesson. Although there were significants about students’ attitude toward science lesson according to self evaluation of their success, there were no significant differences according to gender, fathers’ educational level and occupation, whether mother working and self- evalution of their social status.
